Well I found it an absolutely, brilliant few days. The balance was good, because the subject is so slightly difficult the activities have helped to offset and give a different focus for the people taking part so it is not too heavy. We have taken part in previous things at the University before. One of the groups there which was heavier. It was reviewing a DVD for a literature review. Perhaps having someone there in the focus group to interpret a little bit perhaps reassure and help with understanding. I understood why it was thought a good idea coz there is also a slight risk of us influencing the responses. But I understand why they may feel it necessary for us to be there perhaps to interpret.
The only other thing that has come up. Only one person did an individual interview. It unnerved her she didn’t realise that she was going to be recorded.
The first afternoon it was a little bit rushed with the paperwork. More time to explain consent for recording would have helped.
